Since parking will be
limited and we expect large crowds, we highly encourage all residents to
walk to the Island Club versus driving, if at all possible. This will
help alleviate the parking situation plus walking also promotes public health.
Doral Police Officers
will help enforce traffic and maintain safety at the entrance and exit of the
Island Club, since it will be the area with the heaviest traffic and with most
activities at all times during the weekend.
A one way traffic flow
will be maintained when accessing and leaving the Island Club facilities in
order to expedite access. Entrance will be by the road on the intersection on NW
60th Street and NW 109th Avenue, and the Exit will be through the road on the
north side of the parking lot (by the soccer field) ending back on the main
road.
Parking will be allowed
inside the Island Club parking lot area, and as the parking lot of the Island
Club fills up, parking will allowed on the main road (NW 60th Street / NW 110th
Avenue). Saturday during the 5K run, parking will only be allowed on the
Southeast/East/Northeast Curb Side of the Main Road.
In order to accommodate
the Exhibitions (Skateboarding, Xco, Zumba, Capoeira, etc.) Part of the Drive
and the Carport of the Island Club will be blocked off by Security. This will
enable these events to take place without having to block off parking space, and
will also allow for some shelter from the sun and inclement weather.
